Rare and positively chic late 1910s / early 1920s Edwardian black velvet beret hat featuring delicate contrast stitching throughout and a lovely plume of feathers at the back. Pairs wonderfully with both antique and modern attire for a dash of elegance! Lined in sheer netting with elastic strap.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Wearable and ready to go! I removed some bright pink flannel from the underside of the brim that was poorly added more recently; there may be some stitch marks under close inspection. The elastic strap was also added later; I've left it as it does add a level of security when wearing the hat, particularly when looped around a hair bun. There's some light wear to the velvet nap and some wear to the feathers. It seems like they were perhaps wrapped in tissue for storage, but after many years, the tissue fused with the feathers. I removed what I could, but there may be some remaining spots of paper, and some wear to the feathers. Presents beautifully! Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
COLOR: Black with cream, pink and purple feathers
MORE INFORMATION: No maker or contents labels. Appears to be made of velvet and feathers.
