Absolutely spellbinding 1870s Victorian mourning shawl crafted from the most divine chantilly lace featuring scalloped silk edging, bewitching pointed ends and in such an unusually large size. This shawl is absolutely breathtaking in person, and it's extremely special that a shawl of this size was preserved in its original form -- an unknowable number of these pieces were cut up and used as trim or sections for other garments, so it's amazing to find one like this! Drape over your shoulders for a night with the Unseelie Court beneath the dark moon. Unlined, sheer, no closures. Eligible for layaway, please contact me for more details!
CONDITION: Excellent antique condition with some very light, overall & even fading, plus a single small repair and tiny bit of dryness. So special! Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
MORE INFORMATION: No maker or contents labels. Appears to be made of silk & cotton lace.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment. Please compare the detailed measurements noted above to one of your garments (not your body measurements; clothing should allow room for movement) that fits you well. Please be aware all monitors display colors differently. Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage/antique, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear, as noted in the description. To learn more, please view our store policies.
