1870s Victorian Mourning Prince of Wales Hair Brooch
Breathtaking 1870s Victorian mourning brooch featuring an ornate rolled gold frame and stunning hairwork in the Prince of Wales curl style. A wonderful memento mori worthy of any collection! C-clasp closure at back. Eligible for layaway, please contact me for more details.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. There's some areas that the rolled gold finish has worn away on the frame, as well as minor warping to the frame and light surface wear to the glass. There's a tiny bit of debris trapped behind the glass and one discoloration where glass meets rim, as pictured. A lovely piece! Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
COLOR: Gold with white background and hair in shades of brown
MORE INFORMATION: No hallmarks. Appears to be made of rolled gold, glass and hair.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment. Please compare the detailed measurements noted above to one of your garments (not your body measurements; clothing should allow room for movement) that fits you well. Please be aware all monitors display colors differently. Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage/antique, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear, as noted in the description. To learn more, please view our store policies.
