Gorgeous and incredibly wearable 1880s Victorian mourning petticoat crafted from a truly lovely polished cotton-silk blend featuring a thin waistband, gathering at back, dramatic a-line shape and ruffled tiers at the bottom for volume and movement. Pair with an Edwardian lawn blouse or your favorite gothic bodice. Unlined but opaque, hook & eye closures at back.
MEASUREMENTS: (taken with garment lying flat; waist & hips doubled for your convenience) →waist: 27 inches →hips: 40 inches →length: 35 inches
ESTIMATED SIZE: Small-Medium
CONDITION: Excellent antique condition. I rarely say this, but this petticoat is truly pristine -- it's like it was made and then packed away until I found it. I will say that because of its time in storage, it's taken a bit longer for the wrinkles to fall out than I'd like. I think with time on the hanger and some more steaming, they'll all disappear. Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
MORE INFORMATION: No maker or contents labels. Appears seamstress-made -- well done. Appears to be made of a polished cotton or cotton-silk blend. Hand wash.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment. Please compare the detailed measurements noted above to one of your garments (not your body measurements; clothing should allow room for movement) that fits you well. Please be aware all monitors display colors differently. Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage/antique, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear, as noted in the description. To learn more, please view our store policies.
