Positively bewitching 1880s Victorian mourning bodice created from silk with a sheer net overlay featuring black glass beading at the neckline, three-quarter length sleeves adorned with velvet bows and a nipped waist. Pair with sweeping skirts or create a beautiful mannequin display for your rare jewels. Fully lined, hook & eye closures at back.
MEASUREMENTS: (taken with garment lying flat; bust, waist & hips doubled for your convenience) →shoulder to shoulder: 14 inches →bust: 36 inches →waist: 27 inches →length: 13.5 inches →sleeve length: 15 inches
ESTIMATED SIZE: Small
CONDITION: Good, as-is antique condition. This bodice was probably removed from a full-length gown, so the hem is unfinished and fraying. It's fragile overall with shattering to the silk lining and beading loss at one spot along the neckline. I think this is probably best for display, but it could possibly be worn lightly for a photoshoot if you're comfortable with handling antique fabrics. I'm tempted to keep this one for myself and throw it on a mannequin to display all my necklaces! Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
COLOR: Black, a little faded
MORE INFORMATION: No maker or contents labels. Appears to be made of silk, silk net and glass beads.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment. Please compare the detailed measurements noted above to one of your garments (not your body measurements; clothing should allow room for movement) that fits you well. Please be aware all monitors display colors differently. Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage/antique, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear, as noted in the description. To learn more, please view our store policies.
