Spellbinding and breathtakingly beautiful 1880s Victorian sheer lace & net skirt featuring a silk waistband, a-line shape, built-in slim petticoat, dramatic train and stunning lace material. The lace pattern of flowering vines delicately trails down from the waistband, growing larger and fuller toward the hem. This skirt was skillfully made -- the seam at the back showcases the largest vine, expertly aligned. The hem has a beautiful scalloped finish and a slight train in the back. All in all, this skirt is a bewitching, arresting piece that deserves a place of honor in any collection. Wear it for your highest ceremony at the castle on the hill. Unlined, sheer, hook & eye closures at waist. Eligible for layaway, contact me for more details!
MEASUREMENTS: (taken with garment lying flat; waist & hips doubled for your convenience) →waist: 32 inches →hips: 42 inches →length: 44 inches
ESTIMATED SIZE: Large; best suited for a taller wearer as well.
CONDITION: Excellent antique condition. There was a single 1-inch tear near the back hem that has been addressed; you'll only notice if you're hunting for it. There is a small smattering of moth nibbles near the back right hip and one spot in the underskirt that has a vertical tear -- there seems to be a bit of fabric missing from when this tear happened (likely from a heel!) so I think it's best left as-is to not create bubbling. This lace is very old and a tiny bit dry, so it is delicate. All in all, this skirt is breathtakingly beautiful and when worn with care over a slip and with care, this skirt looks brand new. Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
MORE INFORMATION: No maker or contents labels; certainly professionally made. Feels like silk & cotton.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment. Please compare the detailed measurements noted above to one of your garments (not your body measurements; clothing should allow room for movement) that fits you well. Please be aware all monitors display colors differently.
