Spellbinding late Victorian silver ring featuring an oval hematite stone graced with an engraving of a snake winding back and forth. An absolutely wonderful talisman when worn alone or paired with antique, vintage or modern jewelry! Not adjustable, but seems a good candidate for resizing.
Please note: I mostly sell garments and am still learning the ropes of antique jewelry. I believe this to be late 1800s, and the collector I acquired it from was knowledgeable and did as well, but there is a chance it could be 1930s Victorian revival. Still quite old, still rare, but I wanted to note it just in case I have erred in my judgment, as there are no markings on this ring to help indicate a more precise age.
ESTIMATED SIZE: US 7 - 7 1/4, but appears to be re-sizeable.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. You can see a few places where it was clear the ring is handmade. It looks as though it was resized at one point, as there is a break in the band under the main stone; not noticeable when worn. Some light scuffing and wear appropriate for its age. Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
COLOR: Silver with dark gray stone
MORE INFORMATION: No maker or contents hallmarks. Appears to be made of silver plating (polished up well) and hematite.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment. Please compare the detailed measurements noted above to one of your garments that fits you well. Please be aware all monitors display colors differently. Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage/antique, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear, as noted in the description. To learn more, please view our store policies.
