Early 1900s Victorian black silk mourning blouse featuring a rounded collar, delicious pintucks, ladder lace details, decorative button front, and stunning crescent moon embroidery on the collar and sleeves. The perfect black silk blouse, but made witchy. Wearable history doesn't get any better than this! Hook & eye closures up the front and at the collar, buttons are decorative and not functional.
MEASUREMENTS: (taken with garment lying flat; bust, waist & hips doubled for your convenience) →collar: 12 inches around →shoulder to shoulder: 14 inches →bust: 40 inches →waist: 42 inches →length: 17 inches →sleeve length: 19 inches
ESTIMATED SIZE: Small to Medium; narrow through shoulders & biceps
CONDITION: Very good antique condition with a few flaws to note. The front of this blouse is unfinished and not hemmed. It looks like there was previously a trim along the front, which was removed at some point, leaving a discoloration that I find quite witchy & appealing, but this garment could certainly be hemmed or simply tucked in to hide it if you don't like as much as I do! This blouse was lucky enough to come intact with one of its old style "cufflinks" that holds the cuff together, which I consider to be quite amazing, even if there is only one. I adore this blouse and would keep it if my shoulders were narrower! Please keep in mind this is an antique garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
MORE INFORMATION: No materials or content labels; likely handmade. Appears to be made of silk.
PLEASE NOTE: Because sizing varies greatly based on year, brand and garment type, we recommend you compare the measurements noted above to an article of clothing you already own that fits you well. All garments are measured lying flat unless otherwise noted. Black Cat Clothiers cannot accept returns due to fit, so please pay careful attention to these measurements and ask questions before purchasing! Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear. Take a look at our store policies for more information.
