Impossibly chic and oh so rare late 1920s / early 1930s silk duster jacket featuring a pointed collar, long sleeves, body-skimming cut, elegant shadow stripe design and a vivid pumpkin lining with filigree details where the lining meets the silk. This duster's body has faded to a deep military green while the sleeves have remained a dark, inky black, and honestly, I absolutely love the impact. This duster could easily be in a Fendi runway or a Paul Poiret ready to wear collection, and I must admit I almost kept it! Don over a flapper dress or with a modern print blouse. Fully lined, no closures. Eligible for layaway, please contact me for more information.
MEASUREMENTS: (taken with garment lying flat; bust, waist & hips doubled for your convenience) →shoulder to shoulder: 14 inches →bust: open up to 36 inches →waist: open up to 32 inches →hips: open up to 40 inches →length: 38.5 inches →sleeve length: 23 inches + cuff →cuff: 9.5 inches around
ESTIMATED SIZE: X-Small to Medium; the open design of this duster makes it suitable to be worn by multiple sizes, but please do watch the narrow shoulder and keep in mind it will need room when worn to preserve its structural integrity.
CONDITION: Very good condition, especially for a silk from the 20s! There are some things to note, including an overall fade of the body to a deep green; looks lighter in these photos than in person. There is some fading on the exterior and fabric stress at the shoulders, but if treated with care, this shouldn't be a problem. There's discolorations in the lining. Lastly, there is a tie on the right side of the jacket, but I spy no loop that it ties to, but this could be added. A beautiful piece of history! Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
COLOR: Faded to deep, dark green with black sleeves and pumpkin lining
MORE INFORMATION: No maker or content labels, besides a small label in the underarm with handwritten numbers; this could be an indication of custom or couture design, or an ex-museum/collection -- I can't be sure with just the numbers. Appears to be made of silk.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment.
