Spellbinding and breathtaking late 1930s / early 1940s bias cut black silk chiffon gown featuring a gorgeous tiered skirt with three fabrics at play: silk chiffon, floral lace and sheer stripe. This gown features the most bewitching puffed shoulders atop short sleeves, alternating fabrics on the bodice, which is adorned with round rhinestone be-speckled buttons, a fitted waist and long, sweeping skirt. This gown is simply decadent and is a marvelous example of the styles from this period. You will treasure her forever! Unlined, sheer and sold without a slip, snaps up the side with two hooks & eyes at neck; the buttons are decorative and not functional. Eligible for layaway, please contact me for more information.

ESTIMATED SIZE: XXX-Small to XX-Small; there is some give thanks to the bias cut, but with the side closure, you'll need to have room to pull the garment over your head. I recommend slim arms for the short sleeves and very narrow shoulders. This garment should not be worn stretched to the max.
CONDITION: Very good vintage condition -- these types of gowns are getting harder and harder to find not utterly thrashed. This one has a few small issues to note, though it wears beautifully. There were some small holes in the sleeves, which I've closed, but you can see under close inspection as I had to bring two of the stripe elements together because the fishnet detail in between was completely gone. It shouldn't be super noticeable while worn. There is a 2" spot of fade at the back of the neck, which I was unable to get a good photo of; if you wear this with your hair down, it will go unnoticed. A few rhinestones on the buttons have gone a bit dull. There are some smatterings of tiny lightened spots on some of the lower tiers of the skirt. They lightened considerably with cleaning and should continue to do so; also not noticeable when worn, only when inspected. Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
MORE INFORMATION: No maker or contents labels. Appears to be made of silk chiffon and a silk blend lace. Dry clean with vintage-experienced shop only.
