Spellbinding 1930s opera cloak created from the most sumptuous blue silk velvet featuring a perfectly Art Deco brass & amethyst Czech glass toggle closure at the neck and tons of delicious drape for the most dramatic entrance ever. I cannot gush about this cape enough -- every detail is perfect, from the strapping detail on the shoulders to the stitched stand-up collar and armholes to show off your jewels. This cloak was, without a doubt, worn by an incredibly glamorous woman who wanted everyone to know just how fashionable she was! What a magnificent piece in a rare colorway! Pair with your best ball gown for a night dancing in the moonlit castle. Clasp closure at neck, fully lined. Eligible for layaway, please contact me for more information.
MEASUREMENTS: (taken with garment lying flat; bust, waist & hips doubled for your convenience) →shoulder to shoulder: 16 inches →bust: open →waist: open →hips: open →length: 54 inches →collar: 15 inches around
ESTIMATED SIZE: Medium-Large; seems best for a taller wearer.
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with a few spots of light wear to the velvet pile. All are not very noticeable when worn and depicted in photographs with the light raised so you can see. There is a seam repair to the top of one armhole, not visible when worn. There is light patina on the clasp; I am a sucker for patina, but it would be easy for you to remove if you do not feel the same way. What a rare and magnificent piece! Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
COLOR: Royal blue with brass and purple stone clasp
MORE INFORMATION: By Jeannette. No materials label, but appears to be made of silk velvet with a fine rayon lining. Dry clean with vintage-experienced shop only.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment. Please compare the detailed measurements noted above to one of your garments (not your body measurements; clothing should allow room for movement) that fits you well. Please be aware all monitors display colors differently. Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage/antique, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear, as noted in the description. To learn more, please view our store policies.
