The essential piece for any witch: a 1940s long black opera cape featuring a tie-neck closure and extra drama courtesy of slightly longer side panels, which gives you a billowing cape as you walk without the trip hazard. I consider all of my garments to be for any and all genders who wish to wear them, but this cape is particularly flexible. Unlined, slightly sheer, tie closure at neck.
MEASUREMENTS: (taken with garment lying flat; bust, waist & hips doubled for your convenience) →shoulder to shoulder: 14-18 inches →bust: open →waist: open →hips: open →length: 50 inches
ESTIMATED SIZE: Very open due to construction, but I would say best for Medium - X-Large -- just mind the shoulder measurements and the height!
CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. It has two snags (as pictured) as well as a smattering of light discolorations toward the front hem that I couldn't get to show up -- it almost looks like fingertips that were dipped in white dust. It disappears when the garment is worn, but is noticeable, so priced accordingly. Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
MORE INFORMATION: No maker or contents labels; I suspect this was homemade, and done simply, but well. Appears to be made of a lightweight rayon crepe.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment. Please compare the detailed measurements noted above to one of your garments (not your body measurements; clothing should allow room for movement) that fits you well. Please be aware all monitors display colors differently. Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage/antique, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear, as noted in the description. To learn more, please view our store policies.
