Gorgeous and just a little decadent 1940s blue velvet set featuring a sharply-collared blouse with gold buttons, peplum and dramatic balloon sleeves; the skirt is cut in a the body-skimming 40s style and hits at the mid-calf. A sensuous and witchy take on workwear! Unlined but opaque, snap front blouse and hook and thread eye + zipper on skirt.
MEASUREMENTS: (taken with garment lying flat; bust, waist & hips doubled for your convenience)
BLOUSE →shoulder to shoulder: 16 inches →bust: 36 inches →waist: 26 inches →sleeve length: 24 inches →wrist: 7.5 inches around
CONDITION: Very good vintage condition with some crushing overall to the velvet, discoloration to one blouse button and replaced snaps. At some point, large 80s pillow shoulder pads were added, and I've removed those. Currently, the blouse is without shoulder pads, but would like nice with a slimline 40s pad. Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means minor signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
COLOR: Deep blue with gold buttons
MORE INFORMATION: By Mary Muffet. Made in the USA. Appears to be made from a crepe-back acetate velvet. Dry clean only.
PLEASE NOTE: Black Cat Clothiers only accepts returns if a mistake was made in describing the garment, for which we ask you to contact us within 3 days of receiving the garment. Please compare the detailed measurements noted above to one of your garments that fits you well. Please be aware all monitors display colors differently. Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage/antique, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear, as noted in the description. To learn more, please view our store policies.
