Darling and timeless 1950s cocktail dress featuring a sheer illusion top, three-quarter length sleeves, beige waist ribbon and bow, and flowing back overlay. Reminiscent of the 1950s Dior look where the front of the garment was sharply cut and the back just floated away beautifully.
ESTIMATED SIZE: Small -- please note that this dress does not have much wiggle room despite its flowy appearance; there is a fitted lining with no stretch
CONDITION: Very good vintage condition with a few tiny snags and pinholes in the skirt that are not noticeable unless you pull the folds apart and closely inspect. There is also a small hole in the right sleeve, please see last photo. This garment presents beautifully and is quite incredible in person, so soft and pretty. Please keep in mind this is a vintage garment, which means signs of wear are to be expected. Any significant flaws are always noted in the description. All garments are mended, cleaned and ready to wear.
COLOR: Black with beige ribbon
MORE INFORMATION: Labels were all cut out, sadly, but this is likely a designer garment or one stunningly made by a talented and fashionable tailor. I do not like to speculate further without an actual label. It appears to be made of a silk chiffon overlay with a rayon or acetate blend lining. The ribbon and bow seem like satin.
PLEASE NOTE: Because sizing varies greatly based on year, brand and garment type, we recommend you compare the measurements noted above to an article of clothing you already own that fits you well. All garments are measured lying flat unless otherwise noted. Black Cat Clothiers cannot accept returns due to fit, so please pay careful attention to these measurements and ask questions before purchasing! Additionally, all of our clothing is pre-owned and vintage, which means each piece may feature minor signs of wear. Take a look at our store policies for more information.
